What is a P.E.T.?

P.E.T. is an acronym for a Personal Energy Transportation vehicle.  The PET was originally conceived to provide mobility to all of God's children in need.  Each PET vehicle is actually a hand cranked wheelchair built very sturdy to withstand demanding off road terrain.  The basic construction is wood, with specially formed metal components.  PETs are built in various workshops around the world, and are shipped to those who are identified as ones in need of a transporation vehicle that accommodates loss or impairment of leg use.

PET Mission

The Personal Energy Transportation (PET) Project's mission is to provide mobility for all of God's children in need.  We seek to provide mobility first for those in greatest need and with the least resources in poor or underdeveloped countries.  The PET Project is a part of the ministry of Jesus Christ, whose disciples said,

“In the name of Jesus Christ, arise and walk.”  Acts 3:6

Experience the Mission

If you have never had the opportunity to go on a mission trip before, participating in the PET project will be as close as you can get to experiencing the uplifting feeling of contributing to another in need.  Making a PET isn't complicated.  If you can turn a screwdriver, operate a drill, and run other basic shop tools, you have the skills to become a PET craftsman.  The simple act of tightening a bolt and packing a box provides mobility for those in greatest need but with the least resources.  Many of the people who receive PET vehicles have less than $100.00 a year cash income and have struggled most of their life to just get from one place to another. The PET Project is a unique way for many to have a "mission experience" without leaving home.
